Calder Navigation Podcast

Host & Producer

Sometimes my ideas result in conversation rather than dancing! This has become a key element to my practice, offering a way to explore individual stories and highlight the diversity of life experience in my community.

I began podcasting during the pandemic, having just founded Curious Motion and finding myself unable to gather with others or develop my original plans. I decided it was time to explore something I’d always been interested in but was a little afraid to actually do!

This resulted in a couple of podcast series where I interviewed people from across the arts, culture, and voluntary sectors about their lives - and, wow, was it fascinating! People were so forthcoming with their ideas and stories, and I was privileged to chat with CEOs, choreographers, library workers, performers, musicians, and others.

After a short break finding my feet as pandemic restrictions eased and I continued to explore ideas for what Curious Motion could and should offer, I decided it was time to reintroduce podcasting. This time I wanted to open it up to people who might not ordinarily chat on a podcast, with a particular focus on shining a spotlight on the people of Calderdale, supporting us all to feel less alone as we listen to how others in our community have navigated life in all its complexity!
