This Here Land…

‘This Here Land…’ is a dance performance work that celebrates togetherness and community, and draws inspiration from the rich local area and identity of Elland. The dancers take the audience on a compelling exploration of local landmarks, memories, and defining moments from their lives, inviting them to connect with the essence of this land; it’s past, present, and future, and how we might build community together.
Created with and for Curious Motion’s performance company, ‘This Here Land…’ was first piloted in 2023 and reimagined as a larger work for Welland Festival in 2024.
The company brings together non-professional and professional dancers from the local community to express themselves and share their creativity with others.
In 2025 the company is making new work and recently shared their newest creation, ‘Follow that Sound’ at the opening of the ‘Common Ground’ exhibition at Everybody Arts in Halifax (there wasn't a dry eye in the house!).
