Actually the Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever
Dance Artist/Lead
In early 2024 the inspirational poet and writer, Clare Shaw, asked me if I’d be up for leading a group of people through the iconic Wuthering Heights dance by Kate Bush. It was to take place up on the moors in Haworth itself, we’d all dress up as Kate, and we’d be dancing to raise awareness of our precious moors. What’s not to love!? The answer was a resounding yes!
Fast forward to July 2025, and we made it happen! The ‘group of people’ ended up being 500 beautiful ‘Cathys’ of all genders who came together to dance for each other, our precious moors, and to raise funds for Women’s Aid.
It was the most joyous and special day, and later in the year it will be featured on a special BBC programme.
The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever events take place all over the world at the end of July each year, to celebrate the birthdays of Kate Bush and Emily Brontë, thanks to an incredible project by theatre company Shambush! back in 2012.
Why not check out if there’s one near you, or come and join us if we do it again in the future - after all, there’s nowhere more fitting than the actual Brontë moors!
