In December 2019 I co-founded Curious Motion, a non-profit dance and health organisation based in Elland, Calderdale.
Creating a company, and leading it, is a wild ride! Earlier on in my career I hadn’t envisaged myself doing this, but after building trusting and meaningful relationships over several years with local people in and around Elland, I realised there was a need for the work I offer in the area. I could only offer so much as an individual, so with the support of my friend and colleague Susan Burns, Curious Motion was born!
I am currently the Artistic Director/CEO. Curious Motion is a non-profit organisation that tackles loneliness and isolation through dance and movement. Our goal is to support the cultural fabric of our community to create a fairer, healthier, and more compassionate world.
Curious Motion is now an award winning organisation that has become a key part of Calderdale’s arts ecology and is supporting hundreds of people each year to explore and connect together.
